When your actions are controlled by what someone else “might” think, you won’t get far. You are as limited as that person’s thoughts. Evolving is growth, which inevitably creates a little discomfort. Feel your way through it and create positive thoughts of your own to follow-it’s the only direction you need.
Create your lane outside of the box, there is more room to maneuver. Most people are comfortable inside and you don’t have to worry too much about them veering over, because you now fall into the category of “weird”.
Stop living for other people, you’re only setting yourself up for failure. The only expectations worthy of your consideration are your own.
The “devil” has an agenda and that is to prevent us from getting all of those things we so desperately need to “spiritually survive” in the world. “It” works diligently at deception-and if we’re not careful it can lead us to put all of our energy into the wrong things-things with no substance-material things. Don’t get me wrong-I love “stuff”-I’m a self professed “style head” but I am not defined by anything that I have-it’s doesn’t take precedence over my values-my character-my relationships. I’m conscious of the fact that my spirit won’t take any of it when it leaves this body.
I think the “devil” is made up of all of the things that keep us from fulfilling our purpose-from becoming the best version of ourselves-whether it be as an artist-a philanthropist-a good mother-a good wife-a good neighbor- the person who hugged that kid last week who’d unbeknownst to you just lost his father to gun violence-the person who dared to walk away from that circle of gossip at “the church” last Sunday. The “devil” is negativity and “it” finds its way onto our shoulders every now and then. The trick is if we are able to “check ourselves” before it jumps on our back and consumes us.
